The abundance of natural landscapes, historical sites, hotels, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, beach and mountain resorts, outdoor sports facilities and international cultural festivals in Lebanon has traditionally contributed to the preservation of its most important industries of the country all year round.

The climate and the relatively abundant water supply favor farming on mountain slopes and by the sea. Vegetables, bananas and citrus fruits are grown, as well as olives, grapes, tobacco, figs and almonds. In addition, the breeding of poultry, goats, sheep and cattle is an important source of agricultural income.

Lebanon’s mineral resources are scarce but there are significant deposits of iron ore and lignite, stone quarries, sand suitable for glass and lime.

Leading industries in Lebanon include the production of food products, cement, bricks and ceramics, wood and wood products and textiles.
