What is the term "Payments"
The term Payments, which is referred in Payment Service Regulations, constitutes Directive of the European Union to its members and it aims to increase firstly, the integration of the European markets as well as the protection of the markets and mainly the consumers. Also, the Regulations about Payment Services –within E.U.- intend to increase the competition between markets, as electronic payments ensure same services and environment for everyone. The Directive also provides the appropriate legal environment for a single/same system used in internal and cross-border transactions as well as bigger safety and ease/convenience regarding all financial transactions. It also regulates the rights, rules and obligations for electronic payment services, regarding consumers and financial institutions.
