Forensic Consultant – Firearms & Toolmark Examiner

George was born in Athens, Greece.

He is a Firearm & Toolmark Examiner and a Forensic Expert, with undergraduate studies in Greece and postgraduate studies in USA, in Canada and in Germany. In addition, he has been specializing in 3D Imaging Investigation – Crime Scene Evaluation (AFTE / FSS-Inc), in Photographic Imaging, in Fish Analysis and Processing (FORENSIC-FTI), in Fire Lifting (AFTE / FBA-Lab), and in Fire Resolution. He has taken part in training seminars with subjects: “Medicine through the Microscope”, on Pathological Anatomy, “Heart Failure”, as well as “Judicial Psychiatric Forensic Psychology” at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA). He has been a Research Fellow at the 1st Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy, of the Medical School of EKPA, with the subject: “Histopathological lesions as a consequence of the release of kinetic energy from firearms bullets”.

He has worked for many years in the State Laboratories of the Department of Criminological Investigations of the Greek Police, as a Senior Officer. He has founded the Laboratory of Criminological Investigations, through which he continued to work in the field of Certified Forensic Experts.

George has been charge of any communication with the EUROPOL Knowledge Management Center on issues related to the automatic system of comparative tests of calyx and fireballs (IBIS).

He has an extensive teaching experience in matters related to his specialty, to trainees and post-graduated trainees in the Hellenic Police Forensic Science Division, in the Hellenic Police Academy, in the Forensic Laboratory of Palestine (A.T.L.), in Athens, in Ramallah, in Gaza, as an Instructor – Inspector of the EU, as well as to students of various educational institutions.

He is an active member of the International Association of Firearm & Toll Mark Examiners (AFTE) and of the Board of Directors of the Organization under the name: “Scientific Evidence of Innocence & Invalidity”, and has been a EU Instructor and Inspector (EU Auditor & Instructor Certification), a founding member of the Hellenic Association of Forensic Sciences, a Forensic Expert of INTERPOL and Administrator of Ballistic Systems of EUROPOL.

He has an extensive literary work and a variety of Laboratory Expertise Reports, which he has supported as a witness – Expert, before the Courts of First Instance and the Courts of Appeal in Greece.

Georgios cooperates with Oikonomakis Law as a Forensic Consultant and as a Firearms & Toolmark Examiner.

He is a fluent Greek and English speaker.
